Job Description:

As a Graduate Pharmacy Intern at CVS Health, you will gain hands-on experience in pharmacy practice, contribute to patient care, and develop skills for a future Pharmacist role. You will collaborate with pharmacy teams to improve patient health and experience, while complying with state and federal regulations. The role offers a structured training program, opportunities to expand clinical knowledge, and an inclusive work culture.

Job Responsibility:

  • Living our purpose by following company SOPs to manage and improve patient health
  • Following pharmacy workflow procedures for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment
  • Contributing to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care
  • Offering counseling, answering medical questions, and collecting information on patient medical history under supervision
  • Taking telephonic prescriptions and clarifying prescriptions with prescribers, where allowed by law
  • Performing inventory activities such as putting away medication deliveries and completing cycle counts
  • Providing in-the-moment coaching and training to team members while sharing best practices
  • Understanding and complying with all relevant laws, regulations, and CVS policies
  • Supporting immunizations, including preparing and administering vaccines, educating patients, and monitoring for adverse reactions.

Requirements:

  • PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited program prior to beginning the Post-Graduate Training Program at CVS Health
  • Ability to obtain required pharmacist licensure within the required timeframe, per state guidelines
  • Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required
  • Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
  • Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe
  • Attention and focus, ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time
  • Ability to pivot quickly from one task to another to meet patient and business needs
  • Ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy, ensuring patient safety
  • Actively look for ways to help people in a friendly manner
  • Ability to notice and understand patients’ reactions, responding appropriately
  • Ability to communicate effectively through verbal and written means
  • Mathematical reasoning to solve pharmacy-related problems
  • Identifying challenging patient or colleague interactions and choosing the best course of action
  • Physical demands including being mobile and remaining upright for extended periods, lifting or moving items up to 20 lbs.

Nice to have:

  • 1+ years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
  • Ability to become immunization certified
  • Ability to work in home store and across the market as needed
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
