Job Description:

Graduate Pharmacy Intern position at CVS Health focused on transforming health care for customers. The role involves applying pharmacy school learning into real-world practice to become ready for a Pharmacist role through comprehensive training and hands-on experience in retail pharmacy operations.

Job Responsibility:

Apply didactic learning from pharmacy school into real-world practice
Complete comprehensive training roadmap within 120 days of graduation
Assist pharmacy team to ensure smooth operations and accurate prescription fulfillment
Demonstrate empathy and genuine care in customer interactions
Offer to counsel and field medical questions under pharmacist supervision
Take telephonic prescriptions and call prescribers for clarification
Provide coaching and mentoring to pharmacy team members
Complete basic inventory activities
Contribute to team dynamics and embrace growth mindset
Understand and comply with all relevant laws, regulations, and professional standards
Deliver additional patient health care services including immunizations where allowable

Requirements:

PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited program prior to beginning the Post-Graduate Training Program at CVS Health
Ability to obtain required pharmacist licensure within the required timeframe, per state guidelines
Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required
Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe
Attention and focus to concentrate on tasks and pivot quickly between them
Customer service orientation with ability to notice and understand patients' reactions
Communication skills including verbal and written communication and active listening
Mathematical reasoning for prescription calculations
Problem resolution skills
Physical ability to meet job demands including mobility, lifting, and visual acuity

Nice to have:

1+ years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
Ability to become immunization certified
Ability to work in home store and across the market in other locations
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
