Job Description:

As a Graduate Pharmacy Intern at CVS Health, you will gain hands-on experience and complete comprehensive training to prepare for a Pharmacist role. You will assist the pharmacy team in providing high-quality patient care, ensuring safe and accurate prescription fulfillment, and maintaining compliance with regulations. Responsibilities include learning and adhering to pharmacy workflows, offering patient counseling, maintaining inventory, and supporting the team through consistent application of best practices and communication skills. You will also have opportunities for professional growth and development to deepen your understanding of pharmacy operations and contribute to a positive patient experience.

Requirements:

  • PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited program prior to beginning the Post-Graduate Training Program at CVS Health
  • ability to obtain required pharmacist licensure within the required timeframe, per state guidelines
  • must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required
  • regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
  • ability to complete required training within designated timeframe
  • ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time
  • ability to pivot quickly from one task to another to meet patient and business needs
  • ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy, ensuring patient safety
  • actively look for ways to help people, and do so in a friendly manner
  • notice and understand patients’ reactions, and respond appropriately
  • use and understand verbal and written communication to interact with patients and colleagues
  • utilize active listening
  • ability to use math to solve a problem
  • identifying challenging patient or colleague interactions and choosing the best course of action
  • be mobile and remain upright for extended periods of time
  • lift, scan, and bag items
  • reach overhead
  • move fingers repetitively
  • extend hand(s) and arm(s) multiple directions
  • control precision
  • stoop to a considerable degree
  • close visual acuity
  • occasionally lift up to 20 lbs

Nice to have:

  • 1+ years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
  • ability to become immunization certified
  • proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
