Job Description:

Graduate Pharmacy Intern position at CVS Health focused on transforming health care for customers. This role involves applying pharmacy school learning into real-world practice to become ready for a Pharmacist role. The intern will complete a comprehensive training roadmap within 120 days of graduation designed to further knowledge of store, district, and regional operations while assisting the pharmacy team to ensure smooth operations and excellent patient service.

Job Responsibility:

Apply didactic learning from pharmacy school into real-world practice
Complete comprehensive training roadmap within 120 days of graduation
Assist pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly
Ensure patients' prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately
Provide caring service that exceeds patient expectations
Operate as part of the pharmacy team using Standard Operating Procedures
Demonstrate empathy and genuine care in customer interactions
Contribute to safe and inclusive culture
Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at each workstation
Create heartfelt and personalized moments while serving patients
Offer immunizations and other services
Demonstrate compassionate care by solving patient problems
Offer to counsel and field medical questions
Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers
Maintain self-awareness and provide coaching to team members
Complete basic inventory activities
Contribute to high-performing team
Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs
Understand and comply with all relevant laws and regulations
Deliver additional patient health care services
Support immunizations including preparing and administering vaccines
Educate patients about vaccines
Monitor for adverse reactions

Requirements:

PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited program prior to beginning the Post-Graduate Training Program at CVS Health
Ability to obtain required pharmacist licensure within the required timeframe, per state guidelines
Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required
Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe
Ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time
Ability to pivot quickly from one task to another to meet patient and business needs
Ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy
Actively look for ways to help people in a friendly manner
Notice and understand patients' reactions and respond appropriately
Use and understand verbal and written communication
Ability to use math to solve problems
Identifying challenging interactions and choosing the best course of action
Physical mobility and ability to remain upright for extended periods
Lifting, scanning, and bagging items
Reaching overhead and grasping items
Finger dexterity for typing and picking
Extending hands and arms multiple directions
Visual acuity for transcribing and reading
Ability to lift up to 20 lbs occasionally

Nice to have:

1+ years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
Ability to become immunization certified
Ability to work in home store and across the market in other locations
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
