Job Description:

Graduate Pharmacy Intern position at CVS Health focused on transforming health care for customers. Role involves applying pharmacy school learning into real-world practice to become ready for Pharmacist role. Under direction of preceptor and District Leader, complete comprehensive training roadmap within 120 days of graduation designed to further knowledge of store, district, and regional operations.

Job Responsibility:

  • Apply didactic learning from pharmacy school into real-world practice
  • Complete comprehensive training roadmap within 120 days of graduation
  • Deepen understanding of patient safety and error prevention
  • Assist pharmacy team to ensure smooth operations
  • Fill prescriptions promptly, safely, and accurately
  • Provide caring service that exceeds patient expectations
  • Operate as part of pharmacy team using Standard Operating Procedures
  • Demonstrate empathy and genuine care
  • Contribute to safe and inclusive culture
  • Follow workflow procedures at pharmacy workstations
  • Create heartfelt and personalized moments while serving patients
  • Offer immunizations and other services
  • Demonstrate compassionate care by solving patient problems
  • Offer to counsel and field medical questions
  • Take telephonic prescriptions from prescriber
  • Maintain self-awareness and provide coaching to team
  • Complete basic inventory activities
  • Contribute to high-performing team
  • Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs
  • Travel to stores in market as needed
  • Comply with all relevant laws and regulations
  • Deliver additional patient health care services

Requirements:

  • PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited program prior to beginning the Post-Graduate Training Program at CVS Health
  • Ability to obtain required pharmacist licensure within the required timeframe, per state guidelines
  • Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required
  • Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
  • Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe
  • Ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time
  • Ability to pivot quickly from one task to another to meet patient and business needs
  • Ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy, ensuring patient safety
  • Actively look for ways to help people, and do so in a friendly manner
  • Notice and understand patients' reactions, and respond appropriately
  • Use and understand verbal and written communication to interact with patients and colleagues
  • Utilize active listening by giving full attention to what others are saying
  • Ability to use math to solve a problem
  • Identifying challenging patient or colleague interactions and choosing the best course of action
  • Be mobile and remain upright for extended periods of time
  • Lift, scan, and bag items

Nice to have:

  • 1+ years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
  • Ability to become immunization certified
  • Ability to work in home store, and across the market in other locations, to meet business needs
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
