Job Description:

Graduate Pharmacy Intern position at CVS Health focused on transforming health care for customers. The role involves applying pharmacy school learning into real-world practice to become ready for a Pharmacist role. Under direction of preceptor and District Leader, the intern will complete comprehensive training within 120 days of graduation to deepen understanding of patient safety, quality assurance, and pharmacy professional standards.

Job Responsibility:

  • Apply didactic learning from pharmacy school into real-world practice
  • Complete comprehensive training roadmap within 120 days of graduation
  • Assist pharmacy team to ensure pharmacy operations run smoothly
  • Ensure patients' prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately
  • Provide caring service that exceeds patient expectations
  • Operate as part of pharmacy team through consistent application of Standard Operating Procedures
  • Demonstrate empathy and genuine care in customer interactions
  • Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at each pharmacy workstation
  • Contribute to positive patient experiences
  • Offer to counsel and field medical questions when appropriate
  • Take telephonic prescriptions from prescriber
  • Maintain self-awareness and provide coaching to pharmacy team members
  • Complete basic inventory activities
  • Contribute to high-performing team and embrace growth mindset
  • Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs
  • Understand and comply with all relevant laws and regulations
  • Deliver additional patient health care services where allowable by law

Requirements:

  • PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited program prior to beginning the Post-Graduate Training Program at CVS Health
  • Ability to obtain required pharmacist licensure within the required timeframe, per state guidelines
  • Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required
  • Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
  • Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe
  • Attention and Focus: Ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time
  • Customer Service and Team Orientation: Actively look for ways to help people
  • Communication Skills: Use and understand verbal and written communication to interact with patients and colleagues
  • Mathematical Reasoning: Ability to use math to solve a problem
  • Problem Resolution: Identifying challenging patient or colleague interactions and choosing the best course of action
  • Physical Demands: Be mobile and remain upright for extended periods of time
  • Lift, scan, and bag items

Nice to have:

  • 1+ years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
  • Ability to become immunization certified
  • Ability to work in home store, and across the market in other locations, to meet business needs
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
