Job Description:

Graduate Pharmacy Intern position at CVS Health focused on transforming health care for customers. The role involves applying pharmacy school learning into real-world practice to become ready for a Pharmacist role. Under the direction of preceptor and District Leader, the intern will complete a comprehensive training roadmap within 120 days of graduation designed to further knowledge of store, district, and regional operations.

Job Responsibility:

  • Apply didactic learning from pharmacy school into real-world practice
  • Complete comprehensive training roadmap within 120 days of graduation
  • Assist pharmacy team to ensure pharmacy operations run smoothly
  • Ensure patients' prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately
  • Operate as part of pharmacy team through consistent application of Standard Operating Procedures
  • Demonstrate empathy and genuine care in customer interactions
  • Support management, oversight, and operations within the pharmacy
  • Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at each pharmacy workstation
  • Contribute to positive patient experiences
  • Offer to counsel and field medical questions
  • Take telephonic prescriptions from prescriber
  • Provide in-the-moment coaching, training, and mentoring
  • Complete basic inventory activities
  • Deliver additional patient health care services (immunizations, point-of-care testing)

Requirements:

  • PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited program prior to beginning the Post-Graduate Training Program at CVS Health
  • Ability to obtain required pharmacist licensure within the required timeframe, per state guidelines
  • Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required
  • Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
  • Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe
  • Attention and Focus: Ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time
  • Customer Service and Team Orientation: Actively look for ways to help people
  • Communication Skills: Use and understand verbal and written communication
  • Mathematical Reasoning: Ability to use math to solve a problem

Nice to have:

  • 1+ years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
  • Ability to become immunization certified
