Job Description:

Graduate Pharmacy Intern position at CVS Health focused on transforming health care for customers. This role helps people navigate the health care system by improving access, lowering costs and being a trusted partner. The intern will apply didactic learning from pharmacy school into real-world practice to become ready for a Pharmacist role through comprehensive training and hands-on experience.

Job Responsibility:

Apply didactic learning from pharmacy school into real-world practice
Complete comprehensive training roadmap within 120 days of graduation
Deepen understanding of patient safety and error prevention
Assist pharmacy team to ensure smooth operations
Ensure prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately
Provide caring service that exceeds patient expectations
Operate as part of pharmacy team using Standard Operating Procedures
Demonstrate empathy and genuine care in customer interactions
Contribute to safe and inclusive culture
Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at all workstations
Create heartfelt and personalized moments while serving patients
Offer immunizations and other services
Demonstrate compassionate care by solving patient problems
Offer to counsel and field medical questions
Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers
Maintain self-awareness and provide coaching to team members
Complete basic inventory activities
Contribute to high-performing team
Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs
Travel to stores in the market as needed
Understand and comply with all relevant laws and regulations
Deliver additional patient health care services
Support immunizations including preparing and administering vaccines
Educate patients about vaccines
Monitor for adverse reactions
Review and collect patient information

Requirements:

PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited program prior to beginning the Post-Graduate Training Program at CVS Health
Ability to obtain required pharmacist licensure within 120 days of graduation
Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required
Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe
Ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time
Ability to pivot quickly from one task to another
Ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy
Actively look for ways to help people in a friendly manner
Notice and understand patients' reactions
Use and understand verbal and written communication
Utilize active listening
Ability to use math to solve pharmacy problems
Identifying challenging patient or colleague interactions
Physical mobility and ability to remain upright for extended periods
Ability to lift, scan, and bag items
Reach overhead and stretch to grasp items
Move fingers repetitively for typing and handling
Extend hands and arms in multiple directions
Control precision with machines
Stoop to considerable degree
Close visual acuity for transcribing and reading
Lift up to 20 lbs occasionally
Express or exchange ideas by spoken word
Receive detailed information through oral communication

Nice to have:

1+ years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
Ability to become immunization certified
Ability to work in home store and across the market in other locations
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
