Job Description:

Graduate Pharmacy Intern position at CVS Health focused on transforming health care. This role helps people navigate the health care system by improving access, lowering costs and being a trusted partner. The intern will apply didactic learning from pharmacy school into real-world practice to become ready for a Pharmacist role, working under the direction of a preceptor and District Leader.

Job Responsibility:

  • Apply didactic learning from pharmacy school into real-world practice
  • Complete comprehensive training roadmap within 120 days of graduation
  • Assist pharmacy team to ensure smooth operations
  • Fill prescriptions promptly, safely, and accurately
  • Provide caring service that exceeds patient expectations
  • Operate as part of pharmacy team using Standard Operating Procedures
  • Demonstrate empathy and genuine care
  • Support management, oversight, and operations within pharmacy
  • Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at each workstation
  • Contribute to positive patient experiences
  • Offer to counsel and field medical questions
  • Take telephonic prescriptions from prescriber
  • Provide coaching, training, and mentoring to pharmacy team
  • Complete basic inventory activities
  • Deliver additional patient health care services (immunizations, point-of-care testing)

Requirements:

  • PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited program prior to beginning the Post-Graduate Training Program at CVS Health
  • Ability to obtain required pharmacist licensure within the required timeframe, per state guidelines
  • Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required
  • Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
  • Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe
  • Attention and Focus: Ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time
  • Customer Service and Team Orientation: Actively look for ways to help people
  • Communication Skills: Use and understand verbal and written communication
  • Mathematical Reasoning: Ability to use math to solve problems
  • Problem Resolution: Identifying challenging patient or colleague interactions
  • Physical Demands: Be mobile and remain upright for extended periods of time
  • lift up to 20 lbs

Nice to have:

  • 1+ years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
  • Ability to become immunization certified
  • Ability to work in home store, and across the market in other locations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
