We are seeking a highly motivated Pharmacy IT Systems Lead Technician manager to join our dynamic EPMA team in Pharmacy. In this role, you will play a key role in the ongoing digital transformation of pharmacy department.
Job Responsibility:
Support the Clinical Pharmacist EPMA Lead in the delivery of Clinical Informatics
Be responsible for the ongoing management of Pharmacy IT Systems including CMM EPMA and PSC, Omnicell and Pyxis
Be responsible for supplier liaison, system configuration, testing and workflow changes for all pharmacy IT systems
Lead and manage the 'Business as Usual' element of the role, involving general maintenance of the order catalogue
Oversee and resolve problems for CMM EPMA and PSC systems
Ensure that there are safe and adequate contingency systems in place in the event of system failure for all Pharmacy IT systems including EPMA
Ensure that pharmacy data quality is maintained at a high level
Ensure Trust Standards for accountability, integrity and security of Clinical systems are met
Directly manage day to day the EPMA Pharmacy technician team
Deputise for the Clinical Pharmacist EPMA Lead
Attend appropriate training courses for technicians, to encourage other staff to undertake further training and to participate in such training schemes as necessary to keep relevant pharmaceutical clinical and technical knowledge up to date
Undertake any other related duties, which may be required as part of non-digital pharmacy duties
Requirements:
Registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council
BTEC in Pharmaceutical Science or equivalent
Extended role checking technician (or fulfills the criteria to undertake training)
Educated to diploma level in an IT related subject or equivalent experience
Experience working in pharmacy within an acute hospital
Understanding of clinical risk management
Understanding of Trust mandatory performance measures
Experience of using clinical information systems
Broad knowledge of EPMA new technologies and the application in healthcare
Able to work successfully with internal and external stakeholders
Broad understanding of medication safety principles
Understanding of the need for confidentiality
Knowledge of Health and Safety at Work Act, COSHH and Data Protection Act
Proven ability to work well in multi-professional teams
Able to organize self and others and prioritize workloads appropriately and effectively
Able to articulate a compelling vision of how things could be and might be
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills verbal, written and electronic
Excellent negotiating skills
Able to work independently on highly sensitive and contentious issues

Knowledge of the current major clinical workflow and pathways in the Trust
