Reporting to the Pharmacy Director of Business Operations, the Pharmacy Infrastructure Project Manager assists in the planning, design, coordination, and execution of various construction and building renovation projects and/or equipment coordination for Dana Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI) Pharmacy. Additionally, the position is responsible for tasks related to budget development and expenditure monitoring. The Pharmacy Infrastructure Project Manager assists in related space, construction, operational preventative maintenance initiatives and financial analysis projects as requested. The Pharmacy Infrastructure Project Manager works closely with architects, facilities operations, partnering vendors and consultants, PDC project managers, and pharmacy staff to develop project work plans, timelines, implementation strategies, punch lists, and to close out projects. The Pharmacy Infrastructure Project Manager is responsible for representing pharmacy operational standards in all planning, building, operating, and preventative maintenance initiatives. Additionally, this position is responsible for developing and maintaining all pharmacy equipment standards and ensuring that each project is utilizing these standards in their design and final plans. The Pharmacy Infrastructure Project Manager is also required to participate in the ongoing monitoring of pharmacy equipment to ensure compliance with USP800 and drug storage policies and SOP’s.
Job Responsibility
Assists in the programing, planning, designing, development, and documenting of various construction and renovation projects for DFCI in accordance with industry practice and departmental procedures.
Participates in the review and evaluation of initial space and renovation requests with various departments to determine feasibility.
Facilitates meetings with various departments to compile data for program and project requirements for multiple, inter-related design and construction projects, including capital renovations and space planning initiatives.
Coordinates with internal resources and external consultants as required to fully develop scope of projects.
Reviews design criteria, specifications, space requirements and adherence to DFCI space and finish standards.
Develops, documents, and manages a variety of pharmacy projects and initiatives.
Participates in the oversight of budgets for capitally funded, in-house, workorder renovations and other capital projects as assigned.
Serves as the project manager for pharmacy in-house workorder construction and other capital projects as assigned.
In collaboration with facilities operations supervisor, schedules and manages workorder renovations.
Coordinates scope of work with managers of in-house trades including Telecom, carpentry, electrical, plumbing and HVAC.
Assists and supports the Project Managers in design and user-group coordination as required to execute projects including ensuring project approval process, and budget development and approval.
Follows facility management policies and procedures.
Develops, maintains, and implements pharmacy equipment and infrastructure standards.
Participates in the development and ongoing maintenance of SOP’s, Policies & Procedures and training materials.
Participates in the ongoing monitoring of pharmacy facilities and equipment.
Works with facilities to identify and resolve pharmacy and equipment issues.
Monitors pharmacy equipment and ensures appropriate preventative maintenance schedules are in place and performed per our specification.
Participates in the monitoring of our pharmacy systems that manage our environment.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Architecture and/or Construction Management required. 3 years' experience working in a managerial position in the architecture, facilities management, engineering, or construction field required.
Able to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel, both orally and by written reports. Personable and diplomatic verbal communication skills.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills. Especially critical are skills and experience in leading and collaborating with colleagues that are not direct reports.
Demonstrated organization, scheduling, and coordination skills. Must be skilled in project management, including planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of projects.
Proven ability to evaluate construction drawings, architectural specifications, and associated shop drawings.
