Bachelor's degree in business or a related field or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
five years of contracts or materials management experience
FOR PHARMACY: Associate degree or equivalent from two-year College or technical school, requires three years pharmacy technician experience
FOR PHARMACY: Must be licensed and registered by the Arizona State Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician

Job Responsibility

Serves as a liaison and resource for all departments that utilize Pyxis and the department of pharmacy
Monitors departmental expenses, inventory requirements, inventory costs, utilization reports, controlled substances discrepancies, user sign-ons, all troubleshooting, medication refrigerator temperature capture, Pyxis building, movement and reassignment of all Pyxis units, and coordination of Pyxis maintenance between BD/Carefusion Pyxis and Tucson Medical Center
Conducts all training and competency of pharmacy staff, and as needed – nursing staff, in the use of Pyxis
Provides first level support for business in assigned area ensuring that problems are correctly identified and coordinates resolution with the appropriate members of the Information Services department or vendor
Performs system administration and operational support activities by maintaining user accounts in applications, producing reports and running programs within provided guidelines
Assists in all stages of information technology system implementation such as planning, requirements definition, testing and documentation
Sets up new Pyxis automated dispensing machines ensuring isolated units are tied into the network, makes recommendation for medication stocking based on type of unit and number of beds
Participates in appropriate cross functional meetings where Pyxis is a topic or source of business intelligence
Creates and communicates status reports in accordance with department standards
