Facilitate communication between healthcare providers and patients, relaying information about medication orders, refills, and treatment plans
Ensure verification of insurance coverage, assist with prior authorizations, and help patients access financial assistance programs
Facilitate communication between patients and pharmacists to discuss medication side effects, storage, and handling
Facilitates coordination of medication refills with specialty pharmacies, directs patients to communicate with their designated pharmacy, and ensures effective information sharing with healthcare providers
Educate patients and clinic staff about specialty pharmacy services, medication benefits and adherence support
Assist pharmacists with prescription processing and resolving insurance-related issues
Manages patient and ensures accurate documentation in relevant systems
Effectively helps to interview and train employees
helps to evaluate employee performance as appropriate
delegates work assignments as needed
Maintains competencies as designated by the Department of Pharmacy
Provides guidance and training to newly hired pharmacy technicians
Comply with Federal and State statutes, rules, and regulations regarding the practice of pharmacy

Requirements:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
Three (3) years of pharmacy technician experience
Due to insurance company requirements, incumbent must be 21 years of age or older, due to incremental use of a company car
Valid Arizona driver's license
Licensed by the Arizona State Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician
Skill in responding to customers' questions or concerns
Strong understanding of medication administration processes and patient care standards
Familiarity with medical terminology and prior authorization process
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
Ability to effectively present information and respond to inquiries or complaints from employees, patients and/or their representatives, and the public
Knowledge of pharmaceutical practices and procedures and regulations involving the administering of medications
Skill in communicating both orally and in writing
Skill in compounding and processing prescriptions
Skill in training and guiding staff
Skill in evaluating performance and making recommendations for improvement
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
