Job Description

Experienced Pharmacy Assistant looking for something new and exciting? Maybe it's time to elevate your pharmacy career and shift into the specialty space! We are currently supporting one of our incredible specialty pharmacy partners in their search for a pharmacy assistant in Markham for up to 3-months with the potential for extension.

Job Responsibility

  • Manage multiple tasks related to prescription-related admin and calls to the programs and clinics to ensure faxes are received and they are aware of the same / requesting info related to prescription processing
  • Dispensing and managing patient medication administration in Kroll as part of duties
  • Demonstrate strong English communication skills, particularly when interacting with patients over the phone and in written communication
  • Calls require professionalism, empathy and clear communication as many calls require you to utilize your problem solving skills to support patients dealing with various conditions
  • Perform data entry tasks, including working with Kroll and supporting fax management

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a pharmacy assistant, regardless of the setting, is required
  • Exposrure to Kroll in a steady-to-fast paced pharmacy setting is preferred
  • Strong communication skills are crucial for this role
  • This role involves on-site work at all times (not remote, not hybrid)
  • Positive team spirit, initiative, and interest in a specialty setting are also a must

Nice to have

  • Interest in or previous experience with prescription entry, billing and adjudication in Kroll in a fast-paced pharmacy setting
  • Experience with specialty medications
  • Experience with billing and adjudication

  • Complete third party billing and adjudication through public and private providers, calling providers to resolve problems and understand issues
  • Support the prescription filling process by picking, labeling, and preparing medications
  • Communicate internally via email/Teams and assist with coordination of deliveries
  • Assist with pharmacy inventory: receiving, stocking, and tracking medications
  • Prepare and verify waybills and shipping details for outbound prescription deliveries
  • Collaborate with pharmacy technicians and pharmacists in a fast-paced, team setting
  • Maintain pharmacy records and assist with general housekeeping or administrative duties
