We are currently looking for a Pharmacy Accuracy Checking Technician, to work from our high performing National Distribution Centre (NDC) on the Brackmills estate in Northampton. This role is responsible for providing accurate final checking of all Renal (PD and HHD) that contain POM & P (Prescription Only Medicines & Pharmacy medicines) and ancillary items before their dispatch from the pharmacy to patients. The role will be working Monday and Friday between 10am-6pm.
Job Responsibility:
Complete the final checks of all Renal products to be dispensed, ensuring all errors are recorded on designated forms, errors are corrected and escalated to the duty supervisors and Principal Pharmacist
Maintain the required pharmacy dispensing records, ensuring a clear audit trail using Good Documentation Practices
Ensure all details for home patient orders are correct and patient labels are applied to every product in accordance with the labelling requirements in the Medicines, Ethics and Practice guide for Pharmacists and the labelling recommendations of the NPSA
Ensuring all orders are processed on time as required by the patient, check all returns, and complete the relevant pharmacy documentation
Ensure a full and complete handover is completed and communicated before the end/beginning of each shift to the Responsible Pharmacist
Undertake Pharmacy Risk Assessments and submit report findings to the Responsible Pharmacist
Support pharmacy procedural activities with the Pharmacist including complaint management and prescription investigations
File prescriptions and legal documents to enable easy access to each patient’s detailed history in line with General Data Protection Regulations
Ensure all outstanding prescriptions are retrieved from the hospitals to ensure compliance with the Human Medicines Regulations
Collate the daily errors/near misses and submit it to the Senior Dispensers as part of the monthly statistics
Report all pharmacy incidents, errors and adverse events and where appropriate follow through with a yellow card report to the MHRA
Alert the Principal Pharmacist of issues relating quality and risk of products, followed by completing the corrective actions in line with UK Quality Assurance Standard Operating Procedures
Requirements:
UK recognised pharmaceutical qualification at Level 3 (e.g., BTEC, NVQ or equivalent)
UK recognised or GPhC accredited Pharmacy Accuracy Checking qualification (subject to internal approval by the Superintendent Pharmacist)
Currently registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the GPhC and completion of Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
