Ensuring Safe and effective medication use and delivery to patients by nurses
24 hours checking and dispensing of medication for inpatients in all units and wards
ensure completed and correct delivery of medication to patients through the nursing team
Using a computer system to input checked drugs and creating medication orders to be prepared by technicians and revised by a hospital pharmacist
Dispensing prescriptions for outpatient (Outpatient Services)
Staying inwards in the pharmacy office for dispensing newly added medications and admissions
Preparation of TPN (Total Parenteral Nutrition) bags after receiving TPN request and revise its calculations and rate and printing its label
Dispense TPN on system and document items added and quantities and category
Preparation of IV medications and fluids and inotropes in LAF (Laminar Air Flow) with positive pressure and labeling it
Communicating with physicians for suggesting any modification in the prescribed regimen that satisfies the goals of the verification process and ensures the success of the treatment plan
Reporting medication errors regularly (or during the inspection) done by all personnel involved in the drug delivery process
Performing a monthly inspection in all departments of the hospital that keeps a stock of medication and reviewing the number and expiry date of medication
Requirements:
Bachelor of Pharmacy
Plus one-year professional experience in a relevant position
