This is a dynamic, full-time, 12-month contract role (maternity leave coverage) with an ideal start date of June 1, 2026. The shift schedule operates on a 37.5-hour work week, rotating between 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, and 10:30 AM to 6:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Candidates will also participate in an after-hours on-call rotation. Your daily responsibilities will involve a mix of sitting and standing tasks, divided into two core areas: Clinical Care & Professional Practice and Pharmacy Operations & Quality Assurance.
Job Responsibility
Evaluate, verify, and accurately dispense specialized prescriptions in strict alignment with clinical and regulatory standards
Perform meticulous clinical reviews for both non-compounded and compounded therapies, including TPNs and home infusion regimens
Deliver empathetic patient counseling, medication reviews, and clinical documentation while collaborating directly with healthcare providers to resolve prescription issues
Complete complex pharmaceutical calculations required for specialized medication formulations
Oversee and streamline daily pharmacy workflows to ensure total accuracy, efficiency, and optimal patient safety
Maintain complete proficiency with pharmacy software systems (such as Kroll) and handle related documentation and third-party billing
Lead, mentor, and supervise the pharmacy team, championing continuous quality assurance and process improvement initiatives.
Requirements
Undergraduate degree in Pharmacy (BScPhm or PharmD)
Licensed and in good standing with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP)
Strong schedule flexibility to accommodate the rotating weekday shifts and the after-hours on-call rotation (shared)
Exceptional communication skills, a high level of attention to detail, and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset
Practical experience utilizing Kroll or other pharmacy software.
