Job Description

The Pharmacist Resident is an active participant in an intensive 12 month post-graduate year one (PGY1) training program to develop extensive knowledge and clinical skills used to provide effective pharmaceutical care. The resident is eligible for board certification, and eligible for postgraduate year two (PGY2) pharmacy residency training.

Job Responsibility

  • Functions as a clinical pharmacist, participating in clinical, operational, and administrative activities designed to assist in applying formal theoretical education and research to clinical patient situations
  • Responsible for medication-related care of patients with a wide range of conditions

Requirements

  • Graduation from an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) approved school of pharmacy with a BS, MS, or Pharm D degree, including didactic courses and experiential rotations in the clinical aspects of pharmaceutical care
  • Active Pharmacy Intern license if required by the state
  • BLS-CPR
  • Obtain Active Pharmacist License in good standing in the state in which the employee works required within 3 months
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements applicable to the pharmacy profession
  • Knowledge of the principles, practices, standards and techniques relating to the compounding and dispensing of medications
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of pharmaceutical practice within the acute and ambulatory settings
  • Skills in multidisciplinary team involvement with direct patient care
  • Computer applications such as Microsoft Office
