Job Responsibility:

  • Provides clinical and distributive services for Neonatal through Adult patients in accordance with JCAHO, OSHA, Medicare/Medicaid standards and Texas State Board of Pharmacy Rules and Regulations
  • Dispenses and labels drugs or devices, selects drugs and reviews drug utilization, stores prescription drugs and devices and maintains drug records in a pharmacy
  • Advises or consults when necessary or required by law about therapeutic value, content, hazard, or use of drugs and devices, or offering or performing the services and transactions necessary to operate a pharmacy
  • Implements decisions set forth by the P&T Committee as written in the Hospital Formulary and complies with Health System policies and procedures with regard to the dispensing, maintaining and storing of drugs
  • The resident will also be responsible for research, design, and implementation of a yearlong project that will be of benefit to UH and its pharmacy department.

Requirements:

  • Pharmacy licensure in the state of Texas is required
  • Has current, or is eligible for, licensure in Texas.
