Job Description

A 52-week post-graduate educational training program under the direction of an advanced pharmacy preceptor(s).

Job Responsibility

  • Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders
  • Develops knowledge, skills, and experience to become an advanced pharmacy clinician who manages and improves the medication use process ensuring safe, appropriate, and cost-effective therapies for patients
  • Develops and expands upon the knowledge and skills required to provide evidence based, patient-centered medication therapy management within interdisciplinary teams
  • Develops leadership skill to effect change within the pharmacy clinical and operation sections of acute care hospitals
  • Expands upon and improves the pharmacotherapeutic knowledge and communication skills required to provide medication, therapeutics, and practice related education
  • Develops the knowledge and skills to utilize medical informatics by utilizing the informatics tool available at CHRISTUS
  • Assumes roles and responsibilities also listed in Clinical Pharmacist I job description

Requirements

  • Graduate from an ACPE accredited Doctor of Pharmacy Program required
  • Must be licensed or eligible for pharmacist licensure within 90 days from first day of employment unless a formal program extension is approved for extenuating circumstances, as guided per ASHP
  • BLS required
  • ACLS or PALS required (if pediatric practice)
