Job Description:

This position is accountable for the processing of safe and effective drug therapy, under the direct supervision of a Registered Pharmacist, for patients at Valley Children's Healthcare. Pharmacy Interns are trained to perform pharmacy technician and pharmacist duties in the provision of pharmaceutical care. Pharmacy interns review and dispense medication orders, serve as a pharmacology consultant to healthcare team members and serve as an advocate for pediatric patients. Emphasis of the internship is to obtain education and training to aid in completing experience requirements for licensure as a Registered Pharmacist. Projects and assignments will vary and will require the pharmacy intern to demonstrate collaboration, communication, accountability and time management skills.

Requirements:

  • Program Must be currently enrolled in a school of pharmacy recognized by the Board of Pharmacy, a graduate of a school of pharmacy recognized by the Board, or a foreign graduate who has met educational requirements described in Business and Professions Code Section 4085, or an out of state licentiate who is awaiting the administration of the next California licensure exam.
