This position is accountable for providing safe and effective pharmaceutical care to neonates through young adulthood at Valley Children's Healthcare. Serves as pharmacology consultant, a patient advocate, and a fiscal conscience to the healthcare team while providing pharmacy services to meet the needs of patients/care providers, physicians, nurses and other healthcare team members. Processes safe and effective drug therapy beginning with the review of physician's orders through the administration and outcome of drug therapy and includes providing clinical pharmaceutical services. The emphasis of this position is advanced pharmacy practice in a pediatric inpatient setting. This role may require mixed shifts (days, evenings, overnights, weekends) as the inpatient pharmacy is operated 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Pharmacy staffing is structured to ensure medications are dispensed efficiently both routinely and emergently.
Job Responsibility:

Requirements:
College Degree - 4 year Pharmacy (required)
RPH - Registered Pharmacist - CA-SBP - California State Board of Pharmacy (required)
PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support - AHA - American Heart Association PALS certification within 12 months of hire or transfer into position (required)
BLS - Basic Life Support - AHA - American Heart Association BLS certification within 30 days of hire or transfer into position (required)
Application of pharmacology and knowledge of drug distribution
