Porzio, Bromberg & Newman seeks a detail-oriented and proactive Personnel Services Assistant to join our dynamic Human Resources team. This vital role supports a wide range of HR functions, including benefits administration, employee relations, training coordination, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, payroll processing, recruitment, and ensuring compliance with employment laws. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative team player with strong organizational skills and a passion for delivering exceptional internal service across all levels of the organization.
Job Responsibility:
Assist with the coordination of new hire orientation, including but not limited to: preparation of orientation schedules, preparation of new hire packets, preparation of orientation materials, and touring new employees
Assist with recruitment functions including job posting, interview coordination, background and conflict checks
Assist with coordination and planning of internal firm functions
Assist with performance evaluation program for attorneys, paralegals, secretaries and administrative support personnel
Assist with payroll functions
Assist with administration of employee benefit programs, such as EAP, Credit Union, 401(k) Profit Sharing plan, etc
Maintain Interaction with new employee contact information
Assist with special projects
Provide reception coverage as needed
Open and distribute mail
Filing and file maintenance
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree required
Strong written, oral communication, interpersonal and leadership skills
Strong organizational and math skills
strong MS Word, Excel, OutlookP and PowerPoint skills
Ability to use office equipment, such as computer, copier, calculator, fax machine and multi-extension telephone
Flexibility in daily work schedule to meet firm’s needs during periods of heavy workload
A valid driver’s license or ability to transport oneself to off-site meeting locations independently of mass transit, if necessary
Exposure to personal information requires the ability to maintain confidentiality and to exhibit discretion and sound judgment
