Job Description:

A leading national advisory firm is looking to strengthen its Private Client function in Cardiff with the hire of an experienced Personal Tax Manager or Senior Manager. This role forms part of a dedicated South Wales hub and is being created to support continued growth and increasing client complexity. This is an ideal opportunity for either a Manager ready to step into Senior Manager-level leadership or a current Senior Manager seeking more autonomy, visibility, and progression.

Job Responsibility:

  • Manage a portfolio of HNWIs, business owners, and other private clients with complex tax needs
  • Lead client delivery and communication, ensuring technical excellence and commercial awareness
  • Review high-risk and complex personal tax returns and planning work
  • Mentor and develop junior team members, supporting their reviews and technical development
  • Oversee workflow and team capacity, ensuring efficient delegation and quality control
  • Actively contribute to business development and networking in the South Wales region
  • Stay up to date with technical and legislative changes, and lead internal updates and training

Requirements:

  • Significant personal tax experience within an accountancy or advisory firm
  • Strong review-level technical capability and client communication skills
  • Proven experience managing teams and overseeing complex compliance
  • ATT, CTA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualification (or qualified by experience)
  • Commercial mindset, with a collaborative and solutions-led approach
