We are looking for a support worker to enable an 18-year-old young man, who lives in Cramlington, to remain independent, whilst his main carers are at work. He enjoys art, animation, animals and most importantly dinosaurs. He enjoys swimming, especially underwater. The young man does not have an awareness of risk or danger.
Job Responsibility:
Enable an 18-year-old young man to remain independent
Build and maintain a social network in the local area
Access new activities that are linked to his interests
Gain an understanding of independent life skills
Build his awareness of risks and dangers in the community
Requirements:
Must be experienced at supporting individuals with learning difficulties
Be patient and understanding with the ability to adapt the behaviour to meet changing situations
Be willing and able to engage in activities the client enjoys
A car driver with access to their own vehicle is essential
A full enhanced disclosure and barring certificate will be required
Two references will be requested upon acceptance of the role
one must be your last/most recent employer
Nice to have:
A physically able and active individual would be preferred for this role to keep up with the young man
