Job Description

The Personal Lines Assistant Account Manager provides personal lines support in maintaining, expanding, and servicing assigned accounts.

Job Responsibility

  • Process and check renewal policies
  • Assist with Family Risk Questionnaires, including folding, stuffing, and sending Thank You and Appointment letters
  • Prepare and mail letters, including welcome letters, nonrenewal notices, lost business letters, and special marketing projects
  • Perform data entry, including creating AMS/IR activities for documents, agency‑billed renewals, non‑download renewals, and flood policy renewals
  • Process carrier downloads and manage AMS daily download, clearing policies in suspense, and setting activities
  • Redeliver returned mail and update customer contact information
  • Maintain expiration records and manage suspense/follow‑up systems for correspondence and requests
  • Provide back‑up support to other Account Managers as assigned
  • Maintain favorable relationships with clients, producers, and employees
  • Perform clerical functions such as submitting and sending faxes, proofreading, photocopying documents, and other administrative tasks
  • Assist with billing questions and payment processing
  • Complete mortgage and lienholder verifications

Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree (preferred)
  • Industry software experience (preferred)
  • High school diploma
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite
  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize, plan work efficiently, and manage time effectively
  • Excellent oral communication abilities, with clear and effective speaking skills and strong negotiation capabilities
  • High-quality written communication skills, including proofreading for accuracy, presenting numerical information clearly, and interpreting written materials effectively
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality control, with strong attention to detail and the ability to review and monitor one’s own work for accuracy and thoroughness
  • Proven adaptability, with the ability to adjust to changes in the work environment, manage competing demands, and navigate frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events

  • Supports renewals, identifies coverage gaps, maintains compliance, and builds strong client and carrier relationships to drive retention and account growth
  • Responsible for the day-to-day account management of an assigned book of business, including but not limited to invoicing, claims reporting and follow up as needed, premium breakdowns, policy changes, review of policy forms, providing coverage comparisons, and responding to policy questions
  • Responsible for the oversight and completion of tasks including but not limited to issuance of certificates of insurance, auto ID cards, and processing policies/endorsements
  • Build courteous and successful relationships with clients, vendors, and carriers to improve client retention
  • Identify gaps in coverage and consult leadership or producer of options to advise the client
  • Assist in the renewal process for all assigned and prospective clients with the producer including ordering updated loss information, obtaining updated information, handling renewal applications, renewal marketing, account rounding, reviewing and facilitating the renewal pricing as well as preparing the renewal proposal, and binders
  • Review and document internal compliance and client disclosure requirements, policies, endorsements, and certificates to ensure alignment with client expectations, legal requirements and insurance operations
  • Assist in growing the assigned book of business through account rounding and referrals
