We are looking for an experienced Personal Injury Paralegal to join our team in Newport Beach, California, on a contract with the potential for a permanent position. In this role, you will play a critical part in managing cases from initial intake through settlement or trial, ensuring accuracy and compliance with deadlines. Job Responsibility:
Handle a high-volume caseload of personal injury cases, overseeing all aspects from intake to resolution
Draft and prepare litigation documents, including complaints, motions, subpoenas, deposition notices, discovery responses, mediation briefs, and trial binders
Manage pre-litigation demands by preparing demand letters, summarizing medical records, and creating treatment timelines
Coordinate communications with clients, medical providers, insurance adjusters, experts, and opposing counsel
E-file documents in California state courts and maintain detailed calendaring of hearings, depositions, discovery deadlines, and statute dates
Organize case valuations, damages summaries, and exhibits for mediation, arbitration, and trial
Track liens, medical bills, and settlement statements to ensure accurate accounting and timely resolution
Maintain well-organized electronic case files and support attorneys in trial preparation and overall case strategy
Utilize case management software to streamline processes and ensure effective documentation
Ensure compliance with legal procedures and deadlines at every stage of case management
Requirements:
Proven experience in personal injury litigation, including managing cases from intake through trial
Proficiency in drafting legal documents such as complaints, motions, and discovery responses
Strong knowledge of California court procedures, including e-filing and calendaring
Familiarity with civil litigation processes and trial preparation
Ability to summarize medical records and prepare treatment timelines
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in managing case files and deadlines
Effective communication skills for liaising with clients, medical providers, and legal professionals
Experience with case management software to enhance workflow efficiency
