Our client is looking for an experienced Personal Injury Paralegal to join their team in Newport Beach, California. This contract-to-permanent position offers an excellent opportunity to manage personal injury cases from start to finish while working in a collaborative legal environment. The ideal candidate will bring strong organizational skills, expertise in litigation processes, and a proactive approach to case management.
Job Responsibility:
Oversee a high-volume caseload of personal injury cases, ensuring deadlines, filings, and demands are managed effectively
Draft and prepare legal documents such as complaints, subpoenas, motions, mediation briefs, and trial binders
Conduct pre-litigation tasks, including drafting demand letters, summarizing medical records, and creating treatment timelines
Communicate and coordinate with clients, medical providers, insurance adjusters, opposing counsel, and expert witnesses
File documents electronically in California state courts and maintain accurate calendars for hearings, discovery deadlines, and other key dates
Prepare case valuations, damages summaries, and organize exhibits for mediation, arbitration, and trial
Track and resolve medical liens, settlement statements, and billing discrepancies to ensure accurate accounting
Maintain organized digital case files and assist attorneys with trial preparation and overall case strategy
Requirements:
Proven experience handling personal injury cases, including litigation and pre-litigation processes
Proficiency in drafting legal documents and preparing cases for mediation, arbitration, and trial
Strong knowledge of California state court e-filing procedures and calendaring systems
Ability to work with case management software and other legal tools
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to professionally interact with clients, medical providers, and legal professionals
Detail-oriented and skilled in organizing large volumes of information
Solid understanding of discovery procedures and civil litigation processes
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
