Job Description

A growing personal injury litigation firm in San Jose is seeking an experienced Personal Injury Litigation Attorney to manage cases from intake through resolution. This role is hands‑on and litigation‑focused, with responsibility for high‑value and complex personal injury matters. The ideal candidate is a strong advocate with trial readiness, solid case management skills, and experience handling California personal injury matters.

Job Responsibility

  • Manage a full caseload of personal injury litigation matters from pre‑litigation through trial or settlement
  • Conduct all aspects of discovery, including drafting and responding to written discovery and taking/defending depositions
  • Draft pleadings, motions, mediation briefs, and settlement demands
  • Appear in court for hearings, case management conferences, mediations, and trials as needed
  • Work closely with paralegals, legal assistants, and support staff to ensure deadlines and filings are met
  • Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, insurance adjusters, and experts
  • Evaluate liability, damages, and case value
  • develop litigation strategy
  • Ensure compliance with California court rules and civil procedure deadlines

Requirements

  • Active and good‑standing California Bar license
  • 3–8+ years of experience handling personal injury litigation in California
  • Strong discovery, motion practice, and deposition experience
  • Trial experience or significant trial preparation experience preferred
  • Experience with high‑exposure cases (auto, catastrophic injury, premises liability, wrongful death a plus)
  • Strong negotiation, advocacy, and case management skills
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven litigation environment
  • San Jose or Bay Area experience strongly preferred
