We are looking for a Personal Injury Attorney to join a boutique litigation firm on a Contract basis in Irvine, California. This opportunity is well suited for a lawyer who can navigate a demanding caseload, assess complex client matters efficiently, and produce sound legal judgment in a deadline-driven environment. The role offers close partnership with firm leadership while requiring a high level of independence and strong day-to-day ownership of case review and analysis.
Job Responsibility
Examine extensive medical files, claim materials, and supporting records to identify relevant facts and legal issues across a large volume of matters
Assess the strength and status of client claims, determine appropriate legal direction, and outline recommended next steps for each file
Analyze timing-related concerns, including potential statute of limitations barriers, and flag matters requiring urgent attention
Prepare concise, well-supported case evaluations and present recommendations to the Managing Attorney for review and decision-making
Manage assigned work with limited oversight while maintaining accuracy, consistency, and momentum in a fast-paced litigation setting
Work closely with the Managing Attorney and Paralegal to keep matters organized, prioritized, and moving forward effectively
Handle case review responsibilities in a self-directed manner, including tasks that require independent follow-through without dedicated legal support staff
Requirements
Active membership in the California Bar is required
At least 3 years of experience practicing law, preferably in personal injury, mass torts, or related civil litigation matters
Demonstrated ability to review complex records and draw sound legal conclusions based on factual and procedural analysis
Strong familiarity with medical terminology and the ability to interpret medical documentation in support of claim evaluation
Proven capacity to work independently and manage a substantial volume of matters under tight deadlines
Excellent attention to detail, organizational ability, and analytical judgment
Experience with litigation tasks such as discovery, motion drafting, and legal briefing is strongly preferred
