Job Description

To provide support for a 11-year-old male child with Autism and Speech and Language difficulties. We are looking to recruit two enthusiastic Support Workers for an energetic 10-year-old child who will need 2:1 support.

Job Responsibility

  • Play & Engagement: Support him to enjoy his favourite activities within the local community
  • Encouraging Positive Behaviour: Assist in developing social interaction skills with other children
  • Supervision & Safety: Close supervision is required at all times, as he has no awareness of danger
  • Personal Care: You will be required to support him with aspects of his personal care

Requirements

  • Have a positive understanding about children who have disabilities
  • Have a genuine interest in working with children with complex needs
  • Have a high degree of initiative and be able to respond positively and sensitively to any changes in behaviour
  • Be punctual and reliable as the child cannot be left unsupervised
  • Be flexible
  • Have a happy, positive and caring nature
  • Respect confidentiality
  • Car driver essential and must be insured for business use
  • Full UK driving license
  • Own personal car

Nice to have

  • Experience supporting children with complex needs in a similar role or within a school setting
  • Ideally, you will be creative, full of ideas, and passionate about working with children

What we offer
