Job Description

To provide support for a 11-year-old male child with Autism and Speech and Language difficulties. We are looking to recruit two enthusiastic Support Workers for an energetic 10-year-old child who will need 2:1 support.

Job Responsibility

Play & Engagement: Support him to enjoy his favourite activities within the local community
Encouraging Positive Behaviour: Assist in developing social interaction skills with other children
Supervision & Safety: Close supervision is required at all times, as he has no awareness of danger
Personal Care: You will be required to support him with aspects of his personal care

Requirements

Have a positive understanding about children who have disabilities
Have a genuine interest in working with children with complex needs
Have a high degree of initiative and be able to respond positively and sensitively to any changes in behaviour
Be punctual and reliable as the child cannot be left unsupervised
Be flexible
Have a happy, positive and caring nature
Respect confidentiality
Car driver essential and must be insured for business use
Full UK driving license
Own personal car

Nice to have

Experience supporting children with complex needs in a similar role or within a school setting
Ideally, you will be creative, full of ideas, and passionate about working with children

What we offer

Holiday entitlement is 5.6 weeks per year, pro-rata
