We’re excited to be recruiting Personal Care Assistants (9.30-2.45) to join our partnered school as we help launch their brand‑new site based in Knowle, and continue to grow and strengthen our provision for pupils with complex needs. Your role will be central to supporting pupils’ personal care, wellbeing, comfort, and access to their environment – celebrating every small step along the way.
Job Responsibility:
Carry out personal care routines with and for pupils (including manual handling)
Support pupils during break and lunchtime to ensure meals and drinks are completed safely and hygienically
Prepare and deliver food in the correct consistency for each pupil’s individual eating and drinking needs
Support hydrotherapy and physiotherapy sessions
Deliver appropriate lunchtime play or leisure activities to ensure pupils enjoy a positive, meaningful break
Receive training to support pupils who are tube‑fed and to assist with the safe administration of medication
Support pupils in accessing their environment, community and wider school life
Work closely with teachers, therapists, and specialist staff to create a safe, joyful, and engaging environment
Requirements:
Has experience in care or supporting individuals with personal care needs (desirable, not essential)
Is comfortable delivering intimate personal care with dignity and respect
Brings warmth, patience, and resilience
Is proactive, adaptable, and committed to teamwork
Can follow routines and support pupils with a wide range of physical and medical needs
Wants to learn, grow, and develop specialist SEN and care skills
Nice to have:
Has experience in care or supporting individuals with personal care needs
