The Personal Care Aide (PCA), is an essential member of Golden Home Caregivers Corp., reporting directly to the Case Manager. The PCA provides hands-on personal care and support to clients, assisting with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility. The PCA monitors client conditions and ensures that any changes are promptly reported to the Case Manager. The role also involves administering medications according to policy while maintaining professional standards and respecting the dignity, privacy, and autonomy of each client.
Job Responsibility:
Help clients with personal care (bathing, dressing, grooming)
Prepare meals and help with feeding if needed
Provide companionship and emotional support
Communicate with clients, families, and healthcare professionals
Keep accurate records of client care activities
Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent is required
Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
Nice to have:
Active and current registration in the Alberta HCA Directory is a plus but not required
Experience in a home care setting or related health care facility is an asset
