Job Description

To assist with a variety of tasks which will enable the person who needs care and support to live their personal and social life according to their wishes and interests. We are seeking a kind, patient, and reliable Personal Assistant to support a 5-year-old autistic girl living in Wolverhampton. Our client is a bright and loving child who enjoys sensory play, music, and familiar routines. Our client can sometimes feel overwhelmed in busy environments and benefits from calm, consistent support from adults who understand autism and sensory needs. The role will involve supporting our client to engage in activities at home and in the community, helping our client build confidence, independence, and social skills while ensuring our client feels safe and supported.

Job Responsibility

  • Engaging in play and structured activities at home
  • Supporting sensory activities and calming strategies
  • Accompanying to local parks, activities, or short outings
  • Supporting the development of communication and social interaction
  • Helping to maintain routines and transitions between activities
  • Providing supervision to ensure safety and wellbeing
  • Supporting the child to access enjoyable community activities
  • Working collaboratively with parents to follow agreed strategies and routines

Requirements

  • Experience supporting autistic children or children with additional needs is preferred
  • Patient, calm, and understanding approach
  • Ability to follow routines and support sensory needs
  • Good communication skills
  • Reliable and trustworthy
  • Enhanced DBS check required
  • Full UK driving licence preferred
  • Own car and appropriate insurance preferred
