Your Next Opportunity: Campbell Property Group (CPG), one of Australia’s leading residential construction and property development companies, is looking for a Permits Officer to join our Clarendon Homes team in Beresfield NSW. As the Permits Officer, you will be responsible for supporting the preparation, submission, and tracking of development and building approvals ensuring all documentation meets council, CDC, and company policy requirement while contributing to efficient project progression and high-quality customer outcomes.
Job Responsibility:
Prepare and submit accurate DA and CDC applications to authorities within agreed timeframes
Ensure all supporting documents are correct and complete prior to lodgement
Monitor application status and follow up on outstanding items proactively
Conduct pre-lodgement file reviews in line with council, CDC, and internal policy standards
Flag missing documentation or design non-compliances with relevant internal teams
Maintain records of submissions, approvals, and conditions in compliance with filing protocols
Log and track permit milestones in internal systems for visibility and reporting
Ensure DA conditions are recorded and handed to Estimating within 48 hours
Provide regular status updates to internal teams, including Sales, Drafting, and Estimating
Liaise with Customer Service Consultants to keep customers informed of delays or approvals
Escalate council or compliance issues to the Coordinator or Manager when needed
Requirements:
Minimum 2 years experience in residential building, construction, or related planning/certification/drafting/approvals
Experience preparing or reviewing documents for council, CDC, or certifier submission processes
Experience maintaining submission/approval records and logging permit milestones in internal systems
Exposure to working in a high-volume administrative or compliance-based environment
Familiarity with residential design documentation such as site plans, elevations, and shadow diagrams
Basic understanding of NSW building regulations, council planning codes, and CDC approval pathways
Working knowledge of development application and building permit processes
Awareness of key documentation requirements for council and certifier submissions (e.g. BASIX, 149 certificates, title plans)
Proficient in using relevant software platforms e.g. Microsoft Office Suite, internal CRM/scheduling systems, document management tools
Well organised with a high attention to detail
Clear communicator with the ability to interact professionally across departments and with external stakeholder
Eager to learn and grow, within the residential construction industry
Positive team player with a collaborative mindset
Strong sense of ownership and accountability for individual tasks and responsibilities
