Job Description

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, this role will responsible for delivering safety-critical training and competency assessments while simultaneously administering and controlling the site Permit to Work (PTW) system. This is a 12-month maximum term role which operates on a 8/6 FIFO roster from Perth or DIDO in the Pilbara region.

Job Responsibility

  • Deliver safety‑critical training and Verification of Competency (VOC) assessments, ensuring all MSDP personnel are trained, competent and authorised for their roles
  • Manage site training and competency frameworks, maintaining accurate, auditable records and authorisation matrices within INX Intuition
  • Act as the primary Permit to Work (PTW) issuer for the MSDP, administering permits and ensuring compliance with PLS systems, procedures and legislative requirements
  • Develop, review and execute Simple, Complex and Boundary Isolation Plans, supporting safe plant operations, shutdowns and maintenance activities
  • Verify competency, training currency and authorisations prior to permit issue, ensuring only qualified personnel undertake high‑risk or controlled work
  • Promote strong HSE leadership by supporting risk assessments, incident investigations, MOC processes and continuous improvement initiatives across the Mid‑Stream operation

Requirements

  • Certificate IV in Training & Assessment, with demonstrated experience delivering competency‑based training and VOC assessments in high‑risk operational environments
  • Strong working knowledge of Permit to Work systems, isolations and safe systems of work, with experience issuing and controlling permits in a processing or heavy industry setting
  • Sound understanding of HSE legislation, risk management and permit‑controlled activities such as confined space, working at heights and hazardous energy isolation
  • Experience managing training records, competency matrices and authorisations using site systems (e.g. INX Intuition, learning platforms and permit systems)
  • Confident communicator with the ability to engage operators, trades and contractors, and influence safe behaviours across the workforce
  • Detail‑focused, organised and proactive, with a continuous improvement mindset and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced site environment
