Job Description:

We are looking for a detail-oriented Permit Administrator to join a team in Bethany Beach, Delaware. In this Contract to permanent position, you will play a crucial role in managing permitting processes, maintaining documentation, and ensuring smooth coordination with county and town officials. This role requires strong organizational skills and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibility:

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive permit checklist and guide for each jurisdiction
  • Coordinate the collection and submission of required exhibits for various permits, including demolition, utility, new construction, conservation, and tree removal
  • Prepare and submit permit applications, including associated check requests, and track their progress
  • Retrieve approved permits and promptly notify relevant team members of any rejections, revisions, or additional document requirements
  • Submit utility connection applications and payments for all project starts, ensuring timely follow-ups
  • Stay informed about local county and town codes, as well as changes in permitting fees and processes
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with county and town officials to facilitate permitting procedures
  • Compile construction packages for the production team, ensuring proper organization and storage of documents on both local and shared drives
  • Update start packages and documentation to reflect any changes or revisions after initial completion

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to quickly learn proprietary software
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in managing tasks
  • Strong organizational skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • At least 3 years of experience in administrative roles
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster productive relationships with officials and team members

Nice to have:

Familiarity with permitting processes and local regulations is a plus
