As a Fostering Social Worker, you will work as part of a supportive and committed fostering team, responsible for recruiting, assessing, training, and supporting foster carers across Bradford. You will play a vital role in ensuring that foster carers are well prepared and supported to meet the needs of children and young people, helping to build placement stability and long-term positive outcomes. This is a dynamic and varied role that combines assessment, supervision, support, and partnership working with a strong focus on achieving permanence and improving the lived experience of children in care.
Job Responsibility
Undertaking comprehensive Form F assessments of prospective foster carers
Providing ongoing supervision, support, and guidance to approved foster carers
Supporting foster carer development through training and learning opportunities
Contributing to matching children with appropriate foster placements
Ensuring fostering households meet required standards and regulations
Working closely with children's social workers, IROs, and partner agencies
Promoting placement stability and positive outcomes for children in foster care
Maintaining accurate and timely case recordings in line with statutory requirements
Requirements
Qualified and registered with Social Work England
Experienced within Children's Social Care, ideally fostering, safeguarding, or looked after children services
Confident in undertaking assessments and managing complex casework
Skilled in building strong, trusting relationships with foster carers and families
Passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people
Able to work collaboratively within a supportive team environment
Committed to high-quality, child-centred practice
