Capital City College is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and skilled Peripatetic Music Lecturer - Brass (trombone and/or saxophone) to join our dynamic London-based team.

Job Responsibility:

  • Deliver high-quality teaching
  • Contribute to curriculum development
  • Support students through both academic and pastoral guidance
  • Teach A-level students
  • Support the performance development of GCE Music students through one-to-one tuition
  • Improve trombone and saxophone playing technique, examination repertoire, and live performance skills
  • Contribute to concert performances
  • Examine assessments
  • Record non-examined coursework as required

Requirements:

  • Proven peripatetic teaching experience in trombone and/or saxophone, both within educational institutions and private practice
  • Appropriate professional training (e.g., conservatoire, specialist music course/college, degree, or equivalent qualification)
  • Strong knowledge of trombone and/or saxophone repertoire, technical skills, stylistic diversity, and relevant artists and composers
  • Understanding of the performance requirements and standards of post-16 music qualifications
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and classroom management skills
  • A commitment to inclusive, learner-focused teaching
  • A recognised teaching qualification (or a willingness to achieve one)
