Job Responsibility

Drive the efficiency of perioperative areas
Manage OR equipment and ensure a clean, sanitary, and orderly OR environment
Essential patient transportation
Orchestrate surgical instrumentation flow, setting up ORs with all required supplies and equipment
Meticulously manage, clean, and prepare all supplies, ensuring sterility and readiness
Ensure OR suite readiness by restocking, turning over rooms between cases, and managing supplies and equipment
Strictly adhere to Standard Precautions and safety guidelines across all tasks
Ensure safe patient transport, promptly addressing emergencies, initiating BLS if necessary, and consistently applying infection control protocols, including proper handwashing and PPE use
Assists with the flow of surgical instrumentation between processing and surgery
reads OR schedule, anticipates needs and sets-up OR with required supplies and equipment, for respective case(s)

Certified Nursing Assistant, EMT or Certified Phlebotomist trained and eligible for certification
or 12 months relevant OR or healthcare/clinical experience

Job Responsibility

Participates in the preparation of the operating rooms and / or case carts
Assists nursing personnel with OR set up including setting supplies around the room, gathering additional equipment/supplies, and opening sterile supplies onto sterile field
Reviews the surgeon preference cards and ensures all items / equipment needed for the procedure and positioning of the patient are present
Removes case carts from sterile lift and transports carts to appropriate areas of the department
May perform biological testing for instrumentation autoclaved in the OR and assist with immediate use sterilization
Ensure room has the standard equipment needed to perform a procedure
Assists healthcare personnel at the end of a procedure with turnover of room
Responsible for turnover of room between procedures
Handles chemicals and solutions following department policy
Ensures oxygen tanks are stocked and ready for use on all patient carts
