Technical School Graduation from an accredited school of Ultrasound and 2-5 years experience performing Ultrasound procedures
2 years high-risk/level II OB Ultrasound including Fetal Echo
Experienced with US guided invasive fetal procedures including amniocentesis and CVS
Basic Life Support - CPR (must be from the American Heart Association), within 30 Days
Registered Cardiac Electr, upon hire or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist, upon hire or Registered Cardiac Sonographer CCI, upon hire or Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, upon hire or Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Abdomen, upon hire or Registered Technologist Computed Tomography, upon hire or Registered Technologist Radiography ARRT, upon hire or Registered Vascular Specialist, upon hire or Registered Vascular Technologist, upon hire

Job Responsibility

Performs ultrasound procedures at a technically proficient level
Positions and instructs the patient, operates ultrasound equipment and determines the technical factors for ultrasound procedures
Ensures correct marking/labeling of images, provide and confirm proper/adequate documentation of procedures to assist in diagnosis
Technically proficient in a variety of ultrasound procedures
Ability to train staff members to perform procedures requiring independent judgement
Travel between MRMC - SM and FHMC - SLO offices required

Performance of comprehensive non-invasive, invasive and vascular procedures to demonstrate (OB/GYN) anatomy under investigation
Provides physiologic assessment of OB/GYN vasculature and fetal well-being
Independently provides technically optimal, complete and accurate images for diagnosis of the high-risk OB/GYN patient
Combines clinical history while performing sonographic study to summarize findings of the study and upon completion of the study has the responsibility of documenting information/action to the appropriate physician
Assists physicians during invasive procedures which include amniocentesis, sonohysterograms, endometrial biopsies, and chorionic villi sampling
Documentation of patient history and results of study
Reviews patient history by clinical information available from charts and one-on-one verbal review of clinical history with patient
Summary of findings by imaging technologist must be entered onto the Perinatal computer network which requires advanced knowledge of operation of both computer hardware and software
Notification of appropriate physician of summary of findings
Displays competent understanding and operation of ultrasound equipment
