Job Description:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Engineer for architecture and engineering division in Consumer Technology team. As a Lead Engineer you will apply your engineering skills up and down the full stack, ensuring new frameworks for DevOps and CI/CD/CT pipelines that are used to enhance platform reliability, scalability, and security.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead complex technology initiatives including those that are companywide with broad impact
  • Act as a key participant in developing standards and companywide best practices for engineering complex and large scale technology solutions for technology engineering disciplines
  • Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs
  • Review and analyze complex, large-scale technology solutions for tactical and strategic business objectives, enterprise technological environment, and technical challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors, including intangibles or unprecedented technical factors
  • Make decisions in developing standard and companywide best practices for engineering and technology solutions requiring understanding of industry best practices and new technologies, influencing and leading technology team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives
  • Collaborate and consult with key technical experts, senior technology team, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues and achieve goals
  • Lead projects, teams, or serve as a peer mentor
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable full-stack applications using modern technologies
  • Implement DevOps best practices, including CI/CD automation, containerization, and infrastructure as code (IaC)
  • Develop and execute automated testing strategies, including unit, integration, and performance testing as part of SDLC
  • Ensure secure coding practices, compliance, and governance adherence within the software development lifecycle
  • Optimize software deployment workflows to improve efficiency and reduce time to production
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, security, and operations, to drive engineering excellence
  • Build and maintain observability and monitoring solutions for applications running in cloud and hybrid environments
  • Drive the use of blue/green and canary and feature toggle in production (pattern testing, pattern automation)

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 4+ years in software development in Java or Python and JavaScript (React, Angular, Node.js) or equivalent frameworks for applications at enterprise scale
  • 4+ years of experience of software release cycles such as Git Ops, version control (Git, Bitbucket)
  • 3+ years in Monitoring & Observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, Open Telemetry, or ELK stack
  • 3+ years in DevOps & CI/CD experience with tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, ArgoCD, and container orchestration using Docker, Kubernetes etc.
  • 2+ years of experience with Testing & SDLC including test-driven development (TDD), behavior-driven development (BDD), and any one automated testing frameworks (i.e. JUnit, Cypress, Selenium, Jest, Playwright)
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP, including Terraform or CloudFormation for IaC

Nice to have:

  • Knowledge of secure coding practices, API security, OWASP standards, and cloud security best practices
  • Experience working in banking or financial services with a focus on regulatory compliance
  • Familiarity with microservices architecture
