This is a high-impact contract opportunity for a hands-on engineer who combines deep technical capability with the ability to enable and coach multiple engineering teams. You’ll own performance strategy, enhance internal performance tooling, improve observability, and help shape the next generation of AI-assisted performance analysis.
Job Responsibility:
Own and drive the end-to-end performance engineering strategy across multiple product teams
Build, maintain, and enhance internal performance testing frameworks and tooling
Design and implement load, stress, soak, and browser/API performance testing strategies
Troubleshoot performance bottlenecks using logs, metrics, and distributed tracing
Support production incident analysis and root cause investigations
Coach and mentor engineering teams on performance engineering best practices
Improve observability capabilities across distributed systems
Integrate performance testing into CI/CD pipelines and shift-left engineering practices
Requirements:
Strong hands-on experience in performance engineering within cloud-native environments
Experience building and maintaining performance frameworks, not just executing tests
Strong coding capability in C# / .NET
Experience with performance testing tools such as Gatling, k6, JMeter, or similar
Strong understanding of observability and telemetry
Experience with tools such as OpenTelemetry, Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, Kibana, or similar
Nice to have:
Experience with AI-assisted engineering workflows
Exposure to agentic AI or automation tooling
Experience building telemetry analysis workflows
Experience improving automated reporting and anomaly detection
