These placements are designed for students who have recently completed a relevant degree or those undertaking a required “year in industry” as part of their course — ready to turn their knowledge into real impact while growing alongside us. This placement is subject to an enhanced DBS check (with Children’s Barred list).
Job Responsibility:
Provide matchday analysis support, including equipment setup, live coding assistance, file management and the delivery of analysis resources to coaching staff
Assist in the preparation of pre-match opposition analysis reports and presentations for coaching staff and players
Support the creation of player video clips and data insights for individual development meetings
Assist in the preparation and organisation of individual player performance reviews
Maintain and update performance analysis databases and statistical records
Support the production of player best-practice videos and scouting dossiers on potential target players, ensuring work aligns with departmental processes and team playing principles
Assist in analysing set-piece situations and assist in the preparation of resources and presentations for players and staff
Maintain and develop strong working relationships with colleagues across the coaching and performance analysis departments
Demonstrate flexibility to work evenings and weekends in line with the demands of the football calendar
Undertake additional ad-hoc duties as required to support the needs of the performance analysis department
Requirements:
Experience and/or understanding of performance analysis in elite or semi-professional sport, through academic study, internships, or practical experience
Hardworking, proactive, and motivated to pursue a career in performance analysis, coaching support, or recruitment in professional football
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating flexibility with working hours, responsibilities, and matchday commitments
Strong attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, and effective time management
High personal and professional standards with a commitment to accuracy and quality in all work
Proficient in IT and analysis software, and able to present key data effectively through reports, presentations, and visualisations
Availability to attend all first team training sessions and fixtures, including evenings, weekends, and away games
Nice to have:
Prior experience with performance analysis software such as Hudl Sportscode
Knowledge of data and video analysis platforms, including Wyscout, Bepro11 and other data visualisation tools, and their use to evaluate player performance
Experience creating video clips, presentations, or visualisations to support coaching staff and player development
Familiarity with statistical databases and performance metrics used in elite or semi-professional football
