Job Responsibility:
Schedule and input all appointments in scheduling module in a timely and efficient manner
Assure all pre-procedure and preoperative activities are scheduled or completed
Manage patient and center cancellations and additions to schedule according to center scheduling parameters
Print patient schedules and pull patient charts daily
Facilitate admission process by professionally greeting patients and obtaining identification and insurance information
Assemble and maintain patient medical and financial records securely
Complete front-end billing registration process ensuring all information is entered accurately
Perform insurance verification and complete processes for prior authorizations required by payors
Assist with patient transportation if eligible per company policy
Ensure appropriate signatures are included on all required chart and admissions data
Scan and file documents within 24 hours of completed visits including physician reports
Communicate changes regarding procedure and insurance promptly to internal parties and patient records
Perform daily encounter checks to assure reporting accuracy
Coordinate collection, processing, maintenance, storage, retrieval, documentation, and distribution of medical records as per policy
Document logs of medical record release
Provide information for research or study projects involving patient care in accordance with policy
Oversee office materials including inventory shipments and deliveries
Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
1 to 2 years of related medical office experience
Proficiency with Microsoft Office
Strong communication skills
Ability to multitask effectively
Ability to learn and adapt to new software
Willingness to work in a healthcare environment with potential exposure
Commitment to confidentiality and professional conduct
High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
Associate degree or higher preferred
1 to 2 years of related experience preferably in a medical setting with insurance billing
Proficiency in computers and software such as Microsoft Office
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Ability to adapt to supporting software applications
