Accredited Program: Radiology
ARRT_American Registry of Radiology Tech (ARRT) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
BLS Cert American Heart_non ecard (BLS AHA) - American Heart Association
Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT LICENSE) - State of Florida
No previous CT experience required
One year of radiology technologist experience is preferred
Registered as a Technologist (RT) by ARRT
Registered in computed tomography (CT) by ARRT within 1 year of hire date
Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program

Job Responsibility

Prepares equipment and supplies
Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters
Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment
Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary
Takes on call shift responsibilities as required by the department
Reviews patient history and physician's orders
Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation
When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice
Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate
Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s)

Job Responsibility

Performs CT scans and reformations according to established clinical protocols, guidelines, and department operating procedures
Positions patients correctly, using proper immobilization techniques
Performs optimal scans using correct technical factors and protocols
Use correct technical factors in accordance with the American College of Radiology (ACR)
Performs CT angiography, 3D reconstruction and post processing of computer data
Follows correct CT Department Technologist workflow
Operates support equipment for CT
Initiates IV for administration of contrast media
Prepares patient for exams by explaining procedure
Transports patients to and from departments when necessary
