Job Description for People Planning Specialist at IKEA Gangdong

Job Responsibility:

  • Implement people planning strategy at the unit level, in alignment with principles and guidelines localised by the Country P&C team
  • Ensure compliance with IKEA employment standards, as well as legal and union requirements related to people planning in the unit
  • Contribute to the full people planning process – from forecasting to posting of draft schedules – ensuring scheduled hours reflect planned absences, and coordinate with department managers to finalise schedules that meet co-worker, customer, and business needs
  • Identify areas for improvement in the unit’s people planning process, and escalate deviations to the Unit P&C Manager when scheduled or actual hours exceed the agreed financial framework
  • Ensure the people planning process enables talent development and supports an excellent and personal customer meeting
  • Collaborate with the recruiting manager and Unit P&C Generalist to ensure vacancies are filled with the appropriate contract types to support a great customer meeting
  • Build co-worker awareness and understanding of the people planning process through training, education, and ongoing support

Requirements:

  • Optimise people planning practices and post timely co-worker schedules that reflect the needs of the unit
  • Continuously seek and coordinate business opportunities through optimised people planning, with a focus on IKEA co-workers, customers, and the business – always rooted in IKEA values
  • Ability to understand, develop, and improve business processes through people
  • Proven record of successful collaboration within and across matrices and teams
  • Knowledge of how to implement plans according to set budgets and goals
  • Understanding of the rights and obligations of workers and employers
  • Knowledge of the people planning process and how it is executed in the unit
  • Familiarity with scheduling and timekeeping software used in the unit, including awareness of national and local legal requirements
  • Knowledge of and adherence to IKEA employment standards
