Job Description

As our People Partner for Spain, you’ll own the full local People agenda end-to-end—while being part of a global People community. You’ll ensure Alaners in Spain have an excellent employee experience, and you’ll help our leaders grow through strong People partnership and pragmatic, compliant operations.

Job Responsibility

  • Onboarding & offboarding: deliver a smooth, values-aligned joining and leaving experience
  • continuously improve our processes and feedback loops (e.g., exit interviews)
  • Payroll & HR administration: own payroll operations with our provider, in close coordination with Finance
  • ensure accuracy, reliability, and great employee support
  • Benefits & perks: run and continuously optimize local benefits
  • identify new opportunities (including potential tax-efficient options) aligned with our global approach
  • Employee relations & compliance: handle individual situations with care and clarity
  • ensure compliance with local labor law/collective agreements while protecting our public-first culture
  • People programs (local rollout): support the design/adaptation and rollout of global initiatives (engagement, learning, D&I, organizational health), including communication and basic reporting/metrics
  • Automation & scalability: identify and implement ways to automate People Ops tasks and improve our knowledge base so processes don’t rely on “tribal knowledge”
  • Business partnering: coach and partner with leaders on People topics (team health, performance conversations, org topics), helping them become stronger managers
  • External impact: contribute to our employer presence in Spain through networking/events, and help strengthen Alan’s visibility with prospects and partners
  • One global project: own or co-lead a cross-country People project, depending on your strengths and interests

Requirements

  • 5–10 years of experience across People/HR, with strong fundamentals (employee relations, payroll/HR admin, compliance, benefits)
  • Business partnering mindset: you enjoy working closely with leaders and handling both strategic and hands-on topics
  • Comfortable operating in an agile, scaling environment (priorities evolve
  • you build as you go)
  • Fluent in Spanish and English
  • Based in Barcelona or Madrid

Nice to have

  • Experience in an international context and/or tech scale-up environment
  • French proficiency
