You’ll join the EU Sales People team, a passionate and hands-on group shaping the growth of our sales organisation across Europe. Our mission? To help Sales leaders build strong, scalable teams that drive SumUp’s growth in every market. As a People Partner, you’ll be the strategic advisor and hands-on enabler for our Field Sales teams across France, Italy, and new markets, ensuring every leader and team member is set up to thrive. You’ll collaborate closely with leaders across Sales, Regional People Partners, Talent Acquisition, Compensation & Benefits, Legal, and other People functions to drive consistency, efficiency, and engagement across our expanding Sales organisation.
Job Responsibility:
Partner with Sales leaders to shape organisation structures, role design, and hiring priorities across EU Field Sales
Support and improve core people processes from onboarding and development to engagement and performance, tailored to the needs of Direct and Field Sales
Strengthen leadership effectiveness and team culture to reduce attrition and enhance retention
Review and align FTE and consultant contracts with Sales leadership
Collaborate with Compensation & Benefits on competitive and scalable sales incentive models
Streamline onboarding/offboarding to ensure efficient, high-volume hiring execution
Develop and adapt the People Development cycle for Field Sales, embedding Seeds & Steps into the growth framework
Establish a consistent reporting rhythm for people metrics, including attrition, productivity, and talent density
Coach leaders on effective feedback, performance management, and people decisions
Identify non-obvious cultural or talent issues early and act as a proactive problem solver
Requirements:
People Partner experience in a fast-paced, scaling organisation
Experience supporting Sales teams (consultants and self-employed models is a bonus)
Solid understanding of employment law in France and Italy
Strong change management and stakeholder management skills
Fluency in English and French and/or Italian (both is a big plus!)
A balance of strategic thinking and hands-on delivery, no task too big or too small
Excellent communication, coaching, and influencing skills
High resilience and ability to build trust quickly across cultures
A curious mindset and passion for enabling growth in high-performing teams
