Job Description

The People Operations Center of Excellence aims to enable People Operations Services at scale, simplify and standardise processes, improve data quality and consistency, and deliver a seamless employee experience across Microsoft. The People Operations team provides centralised HR support, handling employee inquiries, managing HR transactions, and leveraging digital and AI solutions to enhance service delivery. Within this model, the EMEA Offboarding team manages end-to-end employee exit processes across multiple countries and regulatory environments. The team ensures compliant, accurate, and timely execution of offboarding activities, including complex and sensitive termination scenarios, payroll inputs, documentation, and stakeholder coordination. As a Senior HR Service Advisor (Offboarding – EMEA), you will own complex offboarding cases, including involuntary terminations, and work closely with business stakeholders, HR Consulting, and Payroll to ensure compliant and seamless execution of employee exits, while driving process excellence and standardisation.

Job Responsibility

  • Manage employee and manager inquiries related to offboarding processes, including complex and sensitive cases
  • Own end-to-end case management for high-impact scenarios (e.g., involuntary terminations, escalations)
  • Act as subject matter expert for country-specific offboarding processes, policies, and compliance requirements
  • Execute end-to-end processing of involuntary terminations, including performance-related exits, job eliminations (JE), and other business-driven separations
  • Partner closely with HR Consulting and business stakeholders to support termination readiness, documentation, and execution
  • Prepare and manage termination documentation, notifications, and payroll inputs, ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Support scenarios requiring pre-termination preparation, including simulations, calculations, and coordination across teams
  • Collaborate with business, HR Advisory, and HR Consulting teams on termination actions, including restructures and performance management-related exits
  • Provide guidance on process, timelines, and operational requirements to ensure smooth execution
  • Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders (Payroll, Benefits, Immigration, vendors) to deliver seamless employee exits
  • Ensure high data accuracy within HR systems and alignment with local labour laws and global policies
  • Manage payroll inputs, severance components, and final settlement coordination with Payroll teams
  • Identify and mitigate compliance risks in complex and country-specific termination scenarios
  • Identify opportunities to simplify, standardise, and automate offboarding processes
  • Support implementation of new tools, workflows, and process changes, particularly for high-complexity term types
  • Leverage AI and digital tools to reduce manual effort and improve delivery quality
  • Maintain and update desk-top procedures (DTPs), KBAs, and process documentation for complex scenarios (e.g., involuntary terminations, JE, performance exits)
  • Support training and knowledge transfer within the team, acting as SME for complex processes
  • Coordinate with external vendors and internal partners to ensure accurate execution of termination-related activities
  • Act as escalation point for issues impacting delivery, compliance, or employee experience
  • Monitor and analyse performance metrics (volume, FR, DTR, CSAT)
  • Drive improvements focused on quality, speed, and reduction of escalations

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Operations, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in HR operations, shared services, or employee lifecycle management
  • Strong experience handling complex or sensitive HR cases (e.g., involuntary terminations, escalations, compliance-driven processes)
  • Solid understanding of HR processes, ideally with exposure to offboarding, employee lifecycle, or case management environments
  • Experience working with HRIS systems and case management tools
  • Ability to manage high-volume workloads with strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, including collaboration with business stakeholders and cross-functional HR teams
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, regional or global environment with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Knowledge of labour laws, payroll processes, and data privacy requirements is a strong advantage
