Job Description

We are looking for a highly organized, service-oriented People Operations Partner to support Cherry Ventures’ internal HR operations and provide hands-on support to selected portfolio companies. This is a great opportunity for a junior/mid level HR professional interested in operational excellence, cross-company exposure, and helping early-stage teams build foundational people processes. The majority of your time will be focused on Cherry’s internal People Operations. Additionally, you will embed with portfolio companies for short periods (to help them establish basic HR operations and improve their internal processes).

Job Responsibility

  • Coordinate onboarding and offboarding
  • Maintain accurate employee data and documentation
  • Support relocations, visa matters, and country-specific HR admin (with external support as needed)
  • Manage benefits administration
  • Keep HR policies updated and compliant with German labour law
  • Coordinate performance management cycles and internal HR communications
  • Serve as the main point of contact for employee HR inquiries
  • Maintain and configure our HRIS (HiBob experience a strong plus)
  • Prepare reports to support People & leadership decisions
  • Improve internal HR processes and documentation
  • Provide hands-on support to early-stage portfolio companies on core people operations topics
  • Help founders set up or refine basic HR processes
  • Offer operational guidance and structure during short-term, low-intensity engagements

Requirements

  • 2+ years in People Operations, HR Administration, or a similar role
  • Experience working in a high-performance culture with high expectations for quality, ownership, and speed
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Prior experience in a startup or scale-up environment (highly preferred)
  • Knowledge of German employment regulations and HR administrative processes
  • Hands-on HRIS experience (HiBob preferred)
  • Excellent organization and prioritization skills
  • Strong communication and relationship-building abilities
  • Service-oriented mindset with a proactive, can-do attitude
  • Comfortable working independently with multiple stakeholders
  • Native/C2-level German and fluent English
